Is this the right course for you?

Peter says:

This course is a revised version of 80235 with the ability to deliver the course for ERP and CRM Project Team members. It does use the later version of Sure Step 2012 but there are only minor differences in terms of specific content used. The case study is very similar to the one employed on 80235 and generally the course structure, although updated, works the same way. We don’t see this as a replacement for 80235 but should be considered when looking at training options for PM’s and Lead Consultants learning Sure Step.

When is this course most useful?

This course is most useful during these Sure Step phases:

Analysis, diagnostics

Course overview

Print this overview
The two day course is an advanced training workshop that focuses on the Project Management area of Microsoft Dynamics Sure Step. Students assume the role of a Project Manager as they complete a case study involving the implementation of one of the Microsoft Dynamics products at Tailspin Toys, a fictitious customer account. This course supports both Microsoft Dynamics ERP and CRM product lines.

About this course

Guidance is provided in using Microsoft Dynamics Sure Step from a Project Manager's perspective as students complete each phase of the implementation. Lab activities focus on project management tasks involving project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure. Students are tasked with completing a variety of Sure Step documents and making strategic implementation decisions during each implementation phase.

Students do not install or use Microsoft Dynamics products during the case study. However, sufficient knowledge of one of Microsoft Dynamics products is necessary for the student to tailor the implementation and complete the Sure Step project documents to satisfy the customer’s business requirements. Class discussions following each lab exercise add the dimension of peer learning and play a key role in enforcing the knowledge obtained during the training.

Additional Reading

Participants in this training course must have experience in managing projects. Knowledge on standard project management methodologies (PMI, PRINCE2, SCRUM etc) is recommended but not necessary.

Because a consultant-friendly layer has been built into the labs, sufficient knowledge of one of the Microsoft Dynamics products is also an advantage in successfully completing the case study.
